Stories from the city, told in the heart of town.

PROJECT ARTS CENTRE, 11-21 MARCH 2020

****CANCELLED FOLLOWING COVID 19 RESTRICTIONS****

12 March 2020: Following An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar’s announcement on public gatherings, we are heartbroken to relay that Where We Live will no longer go ahead.

Following eighteen months of love and labour, we are devastated for audiences and artists alike. The (shellshocked) team here at THISISPOPBABY thank you for your understanding and your ongoing support and solidarity.

We will find a way to bring these new artworks into the light. Stay tuned!

Thank you to all of our artists, partners and supporters for giving their love and energy to this project.

Today we celebrate the artists. #WhereWeLive2020

Below is a glimpse of what the festival would have had in store:

Where We Live is an explosive 10 day festival of new work from THISISPOPBABY that interrogates and celebrates what it means and how it feels to live in Dublin and Ireland right now, from some of the best storytellers and makers on the Island.

From 11-21 March, as part of St Patrick’s Festival, we’re taking over and transforming Project Arts Centre in a red-hot building occupation of new theatre, exhilarating music collaborations, rapid-response performance, playful and evocative visual art installations, an iconic one-off record fair, a town hall of ideas, and of course, a little bit of dancing to top it all off.

CREDITS

Where We Live 2020 is created with the generous support of our partners: The Arts Council, Dublin City Council, St Patrick’s Festival, Project Arts Centre, Mermaid County Wicklow Arts Centre, Cork Midsummer Festival, The Civic, Axis Ballymun, Draíocht, Dublin Theatre Festival, The Irish Museum of Modern Art.

Building on the success of the inaugural 2018 edition of the festival, this year is an even deeper investigation into some of the critical matters of the day. We’re talking about the evolving city, homelessness, migration, the climate crisis, active citizenship and the power of community.

At the heart of the festival is a passionate belief in the power of stories to provoke conversation, foster connection, create agency and engender inclusivity. The power to make us pause, rethink, reframe, and have a great night out in the process.
