2010 End of Year Round Up

Since the company was born in 2007, each year has been progressively more insane, more productive and more extraordinary. We've nearly killed ourselved doing it, but 2010 felt particularly special...and here are the reasons why:

The sheer scale of it all

In 2010 we worked with over 250 extraordinary artists, production team, management staff and volunteers. Together, we presented work to more than 8,500 people over the course of 5 performance club nights in the bowels of the Abbey Theatre, 3 debauched days at Electric Picnic music festival and a week of sublime queerness during Queer Notions at Project Arts Centre.

Electrifying new shows

The Year of Magical Wanking, written and performed by Neil Watkins and directed by Phillip McMahon, literally blew the city's electricity grid. While the rehearsed reading of Mark O'Halloran's Trade, directed by Tom Creed, was a gorgeous exploration of the murky relationship between money, sex and desire. See more of both of these shows in 2011.

WERK gets the nod

WERK, our performance art club in the Abbey Theatre, was...well to be quite honest it was OFF THE CHAIN. The Sunday Times thought so too, awarding it the Best Night Out of 2010.

Nailbiting drama

We Buy Gold opening number. A burst appendix. The delayed inflatable baby from China. The Mnás. A pop star in the pop tent. A heartbreaking ladder sequence. A citywide power out during a stunning premier.

Our collaborators

Our incredible collaborators and project teams, the Abbey Theatre and all of their hugely talented staff, Dublin City Council, The Arts Council, POD Concerts, Fáilte Ireland, the British Council, ABSOLUT vodka and every single person and organisation who supported us along the way. A special thanks to all at Project Arts Centre. We love you.
