thisispopbaby is dedicated to presenting inventive new work that rips up the space between counter culture, popular culture and high art. It was founded in 2006 by Phillip McMahon (writer, director, producer), Cian O'Brien (Associate Producer Rough Magic Theatre Company) and Jenny Jennings (Programme Manager, Dublin Fringe Festival). 

In one short year, thisispopbaby have had considerable success through a number of sold-out shows and events, including the award-winning Danny and Chantelle (still here) [PoD nightclub, September 2006; Project Arts Centre March 2007; Drogheda Arts Festival, May 2007; Invitation to Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh Festival Fringe], the critically acclaimed In these Shoes? (The New Theatre/Dublin Gay Theatre Festival, May 2007), the award-nominated All Over Town (nominated for Best New Play, Dublin Fringe Festival 2007) and the hit show All Dolled Up, starring Panti (nominated for Best Performer and Best Production, Dublin Fringe Festival 2007).
